Let Kids Be Kids - Keep Sport Fun

We would like to remind all members of appropriate side line behaviour and remind everyone that they are children - children play sport to have fun, get fit and play with friends.  Football Victoria has driven the "Football is a game of passion - but passion is no excuse for abuse" campaign recently.  I would encourage all club members to head to the above link and read. Remember referees are children too, under no circumstances are they to be the subject of abuse.  Just as soccer is not a game without a ball,  it is not a game without referees. 

As a club, let’s foster the development of our referees, and as adults demonstrate a high standard for our children to see that sets a behaviour standard that is acceptable.

We have included a resource from the Play By the Rules - Let Kids Be Kids campaign. Play By the Rules is committed to keeping sport inclusive, safe, fair, and fun— from grassroots through to elite levels.  It is a friendly reminder to us all that they are only kids, games are majority non-competitive and the focus is on having fun, building friendships and learning - it is not the world cup. Most importantly our children are watching and listening - so as a club lets demonstrate appropriate behaviour with a respectful atmosphere displaying positive sportsmanship for our children to mimic in years to come.
